Hung 2 HDTVs in 2 weeks

So we got a new TV for the living room, and the TV rotation took place: New TV in living room, old TV in bedroom, old bedroom TV in guest room. So, while we’re at it, why not hang the TVs on the walls in our bedroom and living room?

Pumpkin storms the Lego castle

Last night Porfirio pulled out the Lego box… good old yellow castle 6075 from 1978. I got admonished for having taped the box shut because it is supposedly a “collector’s item” so I went on eBay to prove him wrong, sure I was going to find 18 of them going for about 12 bucks each. Sure enough, I found one… listed for $297!!!!!

Hypnosis for fear of flying…

Today was my second hypnotherapy session with Orange County hypnotherapist Vrisayda Boggess to work on my fear of flying issues. Despite the fact that I spent a significant portion of my childhood and teenage years flying, I have been developing an increasing fear of flying ever since a particularly rough flight back from nationals a few years ago, where the plane dropped about 200 feet.

No Doubt Concert

Haven’t written for a while, but we had some fun last night so I thought it was worth writing about . Laetitia and I went to the No Doubt concert in San Diego last night. It was the first concert we’ve been to since George Michael came to San Diego last year. [...]

A Looooong Trip Home!

Laetitia and I had a great time in Europe, but we were ready to get home. My shoulder had really been bothering me in Paris, we missed Pumpkin, and were tired of the same clothes over and over again!
Our last night, we bubble wrapped up some art Laetitia purchased, and got our bags all [...]

Pumpkin Says Merry Christmas

These holidays took us around for a bit of driving… ranging from Paso Robles, to Yuma, and finally Christmas Eve in Escondido. Pumpkin was along with us for the ride. We hope everyone has a great and safe Holiday

Smokey but not Burned

We made it back home this morning, after passing by the fire on Camp Pendelton. Thanks to David and Vriseyda for letting us stay at their place these last couple of days. They were great hosts… we kept calling it “Honeymoon, Jr.”
Lowell was great, too, and Pumpkin will never forget Ulan, the very [...]

Evacuation Notice Lifted

Laetitia and I got the good news this morning that the Mayor lifted the evacuation order on our community. Laetitia’s parents were required to leave yesterday, and they headed north and to Palm Springs. Laetitia’s grandparents did not have to leave, but there was a separate fire in their area that was eventually [...]

Above the Flames

So, we’re still in Dana Point, watching the news and worrying about our friends. Thanks to all for emails, calls, and concerns. Our jobs are closed today, and we hope everyone stays safe and healthy. Here’s a pretty useful map to monitor the fires:

We’re Evacuated!

Laetitia and I have taken Pumpkin out of San Diego, since we’re inside the southwestern region of the mandatory evacuation zone.  Rachel graciously set us up with her generous mother in Dana Point, where we’ll be watching the news and monitoring the fire situation.  We hope everyone is okay and we’ll be praying for the [...]
